Where did you grow up? I grew up in the Macalester-Groveland area in St. Paul, MN. Sports were a big part of my life at an early age where weekends were packed with basketball and baseball tournaments. I followed my passion of football and eventually played at the collegiate level at the University of St. Thomas.
Perfect Saturday? An ideal Saturday for me starts early on the golf course, chasing the perfect shot before settling in for an afternoon of college football. Once the games wrap up, you can find me by the grill searing steak or smoking brisket, wrapping up the night with good music and a bonfire.
What word best defines you? Curious
History with your own family businesses? In 1947, my great grandfather started Lesota Tool Co. in Albert Lea, MN, which sold tools directly to farmers and ranchers from Montana through California. The company grew to roughly 70 traveling salesmen and would eventually be bought by the Owatonna Tool Company in the early-1970s. Even though I didn’t grow up around the business, I deeply respect the immense grit and sacrifice required to build a business from an abstract idea into a lasting legacy.
